At Robard’s Steak House, Chris Perry’s dedication to the perfect guest experience makes him a Woodlands MVP.
Welcome to our inaugural Woodlands MVP feature, where we recognize individuals who go far above and beyond to deliver the kind of experience that impresses even the jaded citizens of our area.
Texans love their beef. So not surprisingly, numerous high-end steakhouses have popped up to provide it.
When we heard that a new stand-alone steakhouse was being built at the Woodlands Resort, we admit to not being terribly excited. Yet another steakhouse in an already crowded market? What could be different?
Enter our inaugural Woodlands MVP: General Manager Chris Perry. Chris has been with Robard’s since its opening, and has be the driving force to differentiate it from all of the competitive steakhouses in the area. Whether greeting guests, making sure the details are just right for a private event, or suggesting the perfect wine to accompany a dry-aged steak, Chris is the face of Robard’s.
Chris is the master of making a guest feel welcome and pampered, without it coming across as fake or smothering. This balance is one that is difficult to master, but Chris makes it look easy. An executive chef from another high-end Woodlands restaurant commented “Chris gets it. He touches all the tables, makes us feel special, then smoothly moves on. My GM is good, but Chris takes it to a whole new level.” If you can impress your competitors (and get their business on a rare night off) you’re doing something very right.
My GM is good, but Chris takes it to a whole new level.
Chris not only runs an incredibly tight operation, but he is a master of teaching, mentoring, and building a great team. We are repeatedly impressed by the flawless service received from all the members of Chris’s team, and are often astonished to hear that Robard’s is their first fine dining job. This sort of staff development is the key to a restaurant’s long-term success, and it comes effortlessly to Chris.
Chris Perry is one of the main reasons that Robard’s is considered the best steakhouse in the Woodlands. Under his leadership, it’s been recognized by OpenTable (“Best Overall Restaurant in The Woodlands”), by TripAdvisor (“Certificate of Excellence”), by Wine Spectator (“Award of Excellence”), and by TWTX.co (“Where to Eat in the Woodlands”). His work has been recognized by both residents and the press… so who does he credit?
“I’ve got a great team around me.”
The best leaders give all the credit to their team. Under Chris Perry’s leadership, his team delivers the best dining experience to be found in the Woodlands; and for that, he’s our first Woodlands MVP.
