Black Walnut Cafe is participating in its first Houston Restaurant Weeks event, benefitting the Houston Food Bank. They’re offering a $25 HRW2022 prix fixe lunch menu, featuring several of the restaurant’s greatest hits.
First course options include Bacon Jam Deviled Eggs, Chicken Lettuce Wraps (TWTX choice), and Pimento Cheese and Crackers. Second course options are BWC Cobb Salad, Grilled Shrimp Alfredo, Brisket Tacos, Beyond Tacos, and the new Ultimate Bacon Burger.
New Ultimate Bacon Burger
Being familiar with Black Walnut, we selected the new Ultimate Bacon Burger. Black Walnut has been on a run with some impressive new burgers, and the Ultimate Bacon Burger continues the trend.
The foundation is a half-pound Gyulais wagyu patty (a new hybrid beed of cattle created by Chef Austin and Heartbrand). Black walnut tops this unique patty with crispy bacon, truffle bacon jam mustard, American cheese, pickled onions, tomato, pickles, and shredded lettuce, on a brioche bun. (Gluten free option available).
The rich, beefy flavor of the Gyulais, the classic profile of the American cheese, and the tang of the veggies are complimented by thick strips of high quality bacon and the rich, slightly sweet truffle bacon jam mustard. If you’re a burger lover, you won’t be disappointed.
