The Michelin Guide has recognized its first group of restaurants in Texas, and local favorite Corkscrew BBQ surprised the crowd by picking up a coveted Michelin Star. Will Buckman and his wife Nicole founded Corkscrew BBQ in 2011, and we were proud to be the first to write about them when they opened.
Other Houston-area winners of the coveted stars include BCN Taste & Tradition, Le Jardinier, March, Musaafer, and Tatemo.
Michelin also awarded its Bib Gourmand awards. Chef Thomas Bille’s Belly of the Beast was honored, as was local BBQ favorites Tejas Chocolate & BBQ and Rosemeyer BBQ.
Other Houston area honorees include Blood Bros BBQ, Ema, Kai Ba, Killen’s BBQ in Pearland, Mala Sichuan, Nam Ciao, Nancy’s Hustle, Noble’s, Pinkerton’s BBQ, The Pit Room. Street to Kitchen, Theodore Rex, and Truth BBQ.
