Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, a popular Japanese restaurant chain celebrated for its unique dining experience, is set to open a new location in the Woodlands, Texas, during the summer of 2025. This forthcoming establishment will be situated at 9300 Six Pines Drive, Suite 100A, within the Pinecroft Center, occupying the space formerly held by Genghis Grill.
This new venue will mark Kura’s 14th location in Texas and its sixth in the Greater Houston area, joining existing branches in Katy, Midtown, Sugar Land, Webster, and Westchase. The expansion reflects Kura’s commitment to bringing its distinctive sushi experience to a broader audience.
Unique Dining Experience
Kura Revolving Sushi Bar offers a unique dining concept centered around a conveyor belt system that presents over 100 freshly prepared dishes to patrons. This system allows diners to select their desired items as they pass by, ensuring a dynamic and interactive meal. Enhancing this experience, the restaurant employs Kur-B the KuraBot, a drink delivery robot that adds a futuristic touch to the service. Additionally, customers can enjoy an element of gamification, as small prizes are awarded for every 15 plates consumed.

Menu and Ingredient Quality
The menu at Kura Revolving Sushi Bar encompasses a wide array of Japanese cuisine, including sashimi, nigiri, maki rolls, hand rolls, ramen, udon, and rice bowls. Diners can order a la carte items via tableside tablets, adding convenience to the experience. The restaurant prides itself on using fresh ingredients devoid of artificial sweeteners, seasonings, preservatives, and colorings, ensuring both quality and authenticity in its offerings.
Construction and Opening Timeline
According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, construction of the 4,498-square-foot restaurant commenced in late January 2025, with an estimated completion date in June. The project carries a budget of approximately $1.6 million. While an exact opening date has yet to be announced, the company has indicated plans for a summer launch.
