After years of serving The Woodlands community, Nona’s Italian Grill is closing its doors at the end of service today, June 2, 2026.
For many of us, Nona’s was more than just a neighborhood restaurant—it was one of our favorite Italian restaurants. From handmade pasta and classic Italian specialties to the warm hospitality that greeted guests at the door, Nona’s created the kind of dining experience that kept people coming back again and again.
The story of Nona’s was also the story of its owner, Juan Garcia. After immigrating to the United States as a teenager, Garcia began his restaurant career as a dishwasher and spent decades mastering Italian cuisine before opening Nona’s in Tomball in 2010. In 2018, he brought the family-owned restaurant to The Woodlands, where it quickly became a local favorite known for authentic Italian dishes, generous hospitality, and a welcoming atmosphere.
Located on College Park Drive, Nona’s earned a loyal following for its traditional Italian menu, fresh ingredients, intimate dining room, and memorable evenings shared with family and friends. The restaurant’s commitment to handcrafted Italian food and personal service made it a standout in The Woodlands dining scene.
While we are saddened to see Nona’s close, we are grateful for the memories it created: anniversary dinners, family celebrations, first dates, and countless meals enjoyed with friends. Restaurants come and go, but the places that truly become part of a community leave a lasting impression.
Thank you to Juan Garcia, his family, and the entire Nona’s team for years of wonderful food, hard work, and hospitality. Your restaurant will be missed, and its place in the story of The Woodlands will not be forgotten.
Arrivederci, Nona’s. Thank you for the memories.
