Fielding’s Local has rolled out a special menu of hyperseasonal food and drink in honor of National Watermelon Week. The menu is available through Sunday, August 7.
Two uniquely creative summer dishes headline the food offerings:
Watermelon Wedge is topped with Housemade watermelon “bacon”, feta, grape tomatoes, mint, chili, lime, and olive oil. It’s a bright, juicy, and refreshing; the perfect bite for a hot summer day.
Watermelon Mousse is something totally different. A light mouse of watermelon is combed with Parma ham, port wine, hazelnuts, Grana Padano, and basil. This surprising dish brings together the lush flavors of port and ham, the light crunch of hazelnuts, and the cool smoothness of basil and watermelon, finished with umami from the Grana Padano. It’s a prime example of Chef Edel’s unique viewpoint and tremendous creativity.
The offering continues with a dessert and some delicious cocktails:
Watermelon Sorbet is a light, refreshing finish to your meal. It’s finished with fresh raspberries and a silky currant coulis. This dessert whispers summer as you luxuriate over every nibble.
A slate of refreshing summer cocktails was created by Luis Valbuena, Fielding’s master mixologist. If you love cocktails, Fielding’s Local should be a regular stop.
The Waller County Mule combines watermelon infused Skyy vodka, watermelon liqueur, Smirnoff Tamarind vodka, Q ginger beer, lime and mint. It may be the summeriest mule ever, and it goes down easy on hot Texas day.
The WaterJell-o Tini melds Roxor gin, watermelon liqueur, pressed lemon, and cubes of watermelon jello into a playful, warm-weather spin on the classic martini.
Smoky Watermelon is sure to appeal to Texas palates. La Maliciosa mezcal, watermelon liqueur-pressed lime, jalapeño and black salt come together for a summertime spin on a smoky mezcal cocktail.
Fielding’s Watermelon Margarita joins El Jimador silver, Skyy watermelon vodka, watermelon liqueur, pressed lime, and tajin. The flavors of Old Mexico meet those of a Southern Summer, and the result is delightful, sip after sip.
Mojito de Sandia brings together Sin Pasado rum, watermelon liqueur, watermelon, soda, strawberries, lime, and mint. Its tropical influence will melt your cares away.
These specials are through Sunday August 7, exclusively at Fielding’s Local.
