With the coming of cooler weather, foodies have come to expect another fall tradition: Pumpkin and pumpkin spice everything. A brief stroll down the aisle of your local HEB will reveal a plethora of products flavored with fall’s favorite gourd.
While we’ve come to expect this, we were surprised to see an offering from one of Houston’s best burger joints: A Pumpkin Pie Burger.
The formula is simple: One of Hubcap’s excellent fresh ground beef patties. American cheese. Bacon. And a smashed slice of traditional pumpkin pie.
If this creation was offered by anyone else, we’d either dismiss it out of hand, or classify it as a horrible, horrible mistake.
But Ricky Craig, founder of the hugely successful Hubcap Grill group, has a reputation for making unusual burgers turn out incredibly delicious.
In the name of research, we plan to try this burger, and report back with our findings.
The burger should be available throughout October at all five Hubcap Grill locations around Houston: The Heights/Garden Oaks, Pearland, Seabrook, Galveston, and IAH Terminal A.
